Hudson Begins 2010 BIAWC Presidency

Charlie Hudson of Hudson Remodeling of Lynden, CGR and CAPS, a remodeler with 17 plus years of experience was elected as the 2010 President of the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County (BIAWC) at the December 2009 BIAWC Installation Banquet .  Hudson Remodeling is a full-service residential remodeling contractor with specialty experience in kitchen, bath and complete house remodeling services.  Hudson and his three member crew work primarily throughout Whatcom County. Charlie Hudson, said, “It’s an honor to serve as the 2010 BIAWC President.  As I follow in the footsteps of previous great leaders and work in concert with the BIAWC Board of Directors and professional staff, I will uphold the goals of striving for affordable housing and providing Whatcom County residents the opportunity to realize the 'American Dream of Home Ownership.'

Hudson has been a member of the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County (BIAWC) since 1997.  Hudson's local and state leadership includes past President of the BIAWC Master Remodelers Council, BIAWC Government Affairs Chairman and a State Director with the Building Industry Association of Washington.  Hudson is past recipient of the prestigious Remodeler of the Year award in 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2007, as well as the 2007 REX (Excellence in Remodeling) award recipient for a residential bath remodel under $35,000.

Hudson is one of the first BIAWC recipients to earn the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) and Certified Aging in Place (CAPS) designations.  Builders and remodelers whom have attained these designations have achieved industry excellence and maintain their annual continuing education from the National Association of Home Builders.  In addition to being active in BIAWC and BIAW, Hudson is a member of the Remodelers Advantage, a national networking organization that focuses on business coaching, and the Bellingham/Whatcom County Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  Charlie, his wife Jan, and their four girls reside in Lynden.
