LOCAL BUILDERS ASSOCATION DONATES MONEY TO CHARITY
Bellingham, WA - The Building Industry Association of Whatcom County’s (BIAWC) annual charity golf tournament committee presented a $12,000.00 check to the Opportunity Council at the BIAWC Annual Board Installation Banquet on December 16, 2009. The BIAWC and the Opportunity Council have partnered in the charity tournament for the last six years, and this year was the most successful tournament to date. Diana Bailey, Marketing & Major Events Director said "Each year the tournament grows and grows. This year was no exception! Even in a down market the business & construction industry came together to help support a great cause."
The Opportunity Council is a private local non-profit human services community action agency serving the homeless and low-income families and individuals. They are a service organization that acts as a catalyst for positive change both in the community and in the lives of the people they serve. There goal is to help people become self sufficient. They help with school supplies, home weatherization, food, shelter and support and partner with other local non-profits to build a better community.
