    BIAWC ANNOUCES AWARD WINNERS FOR 2009
    At the installation banquet on December 16, 2009. BIAWC honored the following people for outstanding service in 2009. Builder of the Year: Gary Honcoop, of Roosendaal-Honcoop Construction Inc, Associate of the Year: Stephanie Artino of Metcalf Hodges P.S., Remodeler of the Year: Pat Rose of Rose Construction, Inc. MRC Associate of the Year: Scott Alderson of Nibs Construction, Built Green® Builder of the Year: Csaba Horvath, of Astal Construction, Built Green® Associate of the Year: Robert Stockmann, of Pinnacle Inspections, Most Valuable Political Player: Charlie Hudson, of Hudson Remodeling, and Daryl McClelland Community Service Award: Bob Wiesen, of Ferndale Truck Rentals. Congratulations to all the winners!
     
    BIAWC WELCOMES OUR NEWLY HIRED EXECUTIVE OFFICER – LANCE CLARK
    Lance comes to the BIAWC with 15 + years of association management experience including executive, public relations and government affairs advocacy with the home building industry, realtors, well drillers/pump installation contractors and natural resources/conservation districts.  Lance looks forward to meeting all BIAWC members in the upcoming weeks.
     
    EDUCATION UPDATE
    It’s that time! Make sure you check all of your certifications to insure that you are up to date on Forklift Safety, First Aid/CPR, CESCL, and now the EPA Lead Abatement Program for 2010. CLCIK HERE for more information on education offered through the BIAWC.
    • CESCL/CESCL RE-CERT
      The next CESCL Class offered at the BIAWC will be: January 12-13, 2009 $250 members/$325 non members.
      The CESCL Re-Certification will be: January 11, 2009 $175 Members/$250 non members.

    • EPA CERTIFIED LEAD RENOVATOR TRAINING- JANUARY 19TH, 2009 8 AM-5 PM
      EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Final Rule requires that renovations conducted for compensation must be performed by CERTIFIED FIRMS using CERTIFIED Renovators.  This rule applies to builders, remodelers, plumbers, electricians, heating and air professionals! Cost for this class is $250.00 – make sure you take this class now as this rule goes into effective April 2010, and this class will also be offered at SICBA in February. Space is limited to 20 participants! Call 671-4247 to sign up for these classes.
    • FIRST AID/CPR JANUARY 23rd
      First Aid/CPR, taught by Safety First, will be offered on Saturday, January 23rd, 8 AM-12 PM. Please call the BIAWC at 360.671.4247 to register. $60/member, $70/non-member.
    • OSHA 10 JANUARY 26-27, 2010
      BIAWC will be hosting an OSHA 10 Course, introducing students to OSHA/WISHA, Personal protective equipment, hazard communication, noise, fall protection, electrical safety, trenching and excavation, tool safety, material handling, mechanical equipment, stairs and ladders. Students will receive a sample accident prevention program, a copy of the WISHA code, and an OSHA 10 Card. $75 members/$150 non members. Register by calling

    LEHMANN’S MAYTAG HOME APPLIANCE CENTER HAS MOVED!
    Lehmann’s has moved! Their new address is 2001 James St, Across from Hardware sale and Lyndale Glass. They will have a 50% larger showroom featuring two complete kitchens. Also there is a more expanded variety of appliances, featuring Maytag, Jenn-air and Amana. Come check out our new Maytag carpet! Their Grand opening will be January, 12, 2010.
