Continuing Education

The Building Industry Association of Whatcom County is planning a host of useful classes at affordable prices for 2012.  BIAWC sponsors continuing education for members and the community at large. All sessions meet at BIAWC offices, 1650 Baker Creek Place, Bellingham, WA. The BIAWC's 2012 classes (below), include courses of interest to the general business community. All are open to the general public, although BIAWC members receive a price discount. Registration deadlines are a week before each class, but early registration helps us accommodate you better, and is appreciated.  What classes can YOU use in 2012?  To request a class, call Linda Twitchell, 671-4247, or send an e-mail to lindat@biawc.com.

Several of this spring’s classes, on topics designed for tight times, are taught by BIAWC member Stephanie Artino, CPA, and a principal and shareholder with Metcalf Hodges in Bellingham.  In addition to traditional tax and accounting services, Stephanie focuses on providing advisory services to small-to-medium sized (SME) businesses.  In her opinion, the real fun comes from the advisory work, which goes beyond the "traditional" to help clients reach their goals.  In 2011, Stephanie received a Master Advisor Certification from RAN ONE, after completing a rigorous 2-year program of study with honors.  Stephanie graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and minor in Business Administration.  In addition to her CPA license, she brings over 17 years of accounting experience from both the public and private sectors. Stephanie has also volunteered many years of service on the Board of Directors for various not-for-profit organizations in our community.  You can sign up and pay for classes online, following the links below.
