Tari Caswell, the Accounting/Member Services Director, joined the BIAWC in August 1999 as the part-time bookkeeper. In 2006, Tari assumed additional job duties of membership services. In addition to handling accounts payables and receivables, Tari serves as the staff liaison to the Membership Committee and Spike Club.
Tari markets Builder and Associate membership benefits including Return on Industrial Insurance (ROII) [refund on Labor and Industries worker compensation premiums], the Group Health Insurance [substantial premium savings on health policies with regional health insurers] and Verizon contractor phone programs [22% monthly access calling plan fees]. Tari also provides the accounting and PDC reporting for the Whatcom County Affordable Housing Council, the political action committee of the BIAWC.
Tari has completed coursework in accounting and business management from Tarrant County Junior College, Texas in 1986 and Edmonds Community College in 1989. A Native Washingtonian residing in Glenahaven in southern Whatcom County, Tari and her husband have two children. Tari is active in various volunteer activities including serving as a Whatcom County Fire Commissioner.
